Now that the game has become a game all the way to Gen 5, I think it is time the available Pokemon selection is brought up to speed. There doesn't need to be any magic explanation, and if one is so needed, magic up an event that whooshes in lots of new species. There isn't a wild Pokemon list for Kanto yet, adding Pokemon in that way would be easy and natural, and give another thing for people to do in Kanto as there isn't as much there yet.

General variety in wild Pokemon is lacking as well, particularly if you choose to copy and paste any of the canon Kanto wild Pokemon lists once those are updated. Johto was never known for the variety it has in the games, but over two years this has been worked on in this game... but it's been two years. Some will say, I am sure you will say, that there are more important things to do right now: I say that this has been an issue from the very beginning and it is one of the only issues that still has yet to get any proper attention, and it only becomes more of one as players continue on their journey with Johto as it is.

Why not put all the common birds and bugs in the early routes? Why not add in the free roaming Pokemon in areas that they might fit in? Why not put the rock type Pokemon in rock type places? Why not fill up all of the routes with appropriate Pokemon? Maybe not all right at once, but as is now this simply won't do. I know I am not the only one who feels this way about wild Pokemon selection in this Gen 5 game.

There is no need to keep discriminating by generation anymore. We're rapidly approaching B/W2, which will very likely add even more things than what we know already, but we've still barely breached the fourth generation as it is.

Swarms every so often should still happen as they do, but alone they don't cut it unless the Pokemon stay behind in those areas once they end.

Wild Pokemon are something players deal with every day in-game. Because of this, even before events, I implore you. Please don't brush this concern off. Please consider it and please actually implement what I am suggesting.

Next: Starters. There still aren't many later generation starters available. Barely any from 5. The ones that are from 5 are mostly common Pokemon that few people would actually.

I believe there is something to be said about the bond of a starter Pokemon and the trainer it was paired with, or even a captured Pokemon. It isn't really the same as going out to the Johto Shopping Network and selecting an egg for what you want. As is, the lacking starter selection truly harms the potential and possible things players can do, forcing them to resort to other options. Those of us who grew up with the anime at least a little bit know how much starters mean, so why do we have to have the selection like this in a game that doesn't have to have them?

May I ask, besides for the ones that have and need to have limits, why is there even a list restricting types of available starter Pokemon in the first place? Because it looks nice? Why can't players just choose from the whole Pokedex at this point? The default answer for when people want something from the game should not be go to the breeding center or wait for an event. People complain about this enough in the real games, there is no point in making it so in our RP one.

Please do not respond with "this is a Johto/Kanto based game" or "this is a Gen 2 based game" because to be blunt it isn't anymore. Unless you truly plan on making this game expand to other regions, which would be a horrible idea given how Kanto is going so far, the regions we have now need to compensate for the lack of other ones.

Which brings my next point of discussion.

There is a lot in the other games. Not just the Pokemon. Places, ideas, concepts, and the whole world in them. If we are not going to go to the other regions, and if you think we are I want to say right now that I think that is a very bad idea because I do not believe that you as mods or we as players could handle it, then things from other regions should be incorporated as the games go on.

This might be better left for suggestion posts, but while I am bringing it up I thought I should say it. Use the legendaries, the characters, the plots, the ideas. There is no reason this game must be so cut and dry. Start a plot that brings one of the other teams overseas, and then you have a new player class. Start a plot with a foreign legendary, and they can bring foreign Pokemon overseas to Johto and Kanto with them. Start a plot that brings a Gym Leader over, and they leave foreign Pokemon behind in the breeding centers.

I say it once more: Please don't respond or dismiss these with the simple comment that this game is a Gen 2 Johto game. That is far from the current truth as the game is now and in a time when the game is going through an evolution that will hopefully make it better and bring it back to what it once was on LJ, all parts that need evolution should be allowed to evolve.
