Any word on when we're getting event info?

Hey, anon! You have great timing — it was our plan to spend this weekend putting the finishing touches on a plot infopost and have something up for the players on Monday!

Part of the delay has been in making sure we set the plot at a time that all of our schedules align (we've had some unavoidable RL concerns crop up unexpectedly lately), but we're projecting that plot will take place during the last week of the month, so players will have a good week between the infopost and the start of the plot to get situated for it.

Hi, I wanted to ask a few things about some of Valmont's character choices so far. It's been a long time since I watched his canon but I'm a little familiar with it, and I'm not sure why Valmont is making some of the choices he's making so far. His eagerness to jump into bed with Raikov is one thing, especially when at the time of that conversation he'd only been in the game for a few hours at most. I can understand him being eager to gain information about where he's at and establish a power base, but that seems like a confusing way to go about it, especially for someone who's been betrayed by his supposed allies before. Even if this is an example of Valmont acting impulsively, as his application says he sometimes does, I don't understand why his first impulse is to seduce a complete stranger instead of a different method of getting information. He's also been pretty careless about the information he's been giving out, like outing himself as a Rocket. I was wondering if you could explain your reasoning for some of these choices?

Those are some really good questions, and thank you for bringing them up. I'm afraid that I can't really give you an answer beyond "it just felt like what I should have him do in those situations." If you think I should change that stuff, I will. If you want to hash things out in a more detailed conversation on the HMD or in a PM or whatever, I'll gladly do that too. Whichever way, I'll definitely take what you've said into consideration.

(Also, on the Rocket front, he doesn't know that getting two starters or being in Goldenrod means you're a Rocket. As far as he knows, he just got two starters because he's that special.)

On the Rocket front, does that mean he didn't read any of the Team Rocket information he was provided with upon introduction? The Code of Conduct would have explained some of that at least, and since Valmont is no stranger to secret organizations, I'm not sure why he wouldn't be more cautious about what he was telling people in general.

I'm a little concerned that you don't have any reasoning for those choices. There's leeway for interpretation with any character, but that needs to be supported by canon or game development. Otherwise it seems like you're ignoring characterization in order to get the outcome you want, rather than following what the character would be likely to do in that situation.

As for the TR thing: yes, I consciously didn't have him read the booklet. If all Rockets need to have read it before posting, well, my screwup there was on an OOC level, not an IC one.

As for ignoring characterization to suit my needs: I promise I'm not doing that on purpose. I'm doing my best to follow the characterization as well as I can. I see your point that it might seem that way, but any mistakes are because I'm bad at characterization, not because I'm intentionally manipulating anything.

As for everything else: that's fair. I'm not sure what I can say, apart from what I've said: that I've taken what you said about supporting his actions into consideration, and I'll try to do better. Thank you for your feedback. I'll do my best to use it to improve.

I'm still a little confused about how you can be following his characterization without having reasoning behind your characterization choices, but I appreciate your willingness to receive criticism and improve. Thanks for your time.
