Hello Route fellows, it’s your friendly neighborhood Dawn~
Hopefully, some of you remember that player plot I had at the beginning of the year. For those who don’t know, it was about characters stealing various bits of information from the professors to learn more about the pokémon world. The event turned out pretty well and some people were interested in another one. I’ve been thinking of a few ways to improve it and this is what I came up with. (Still 100% mod approved)

Instead just having one big raid every so often with a few characters, why not create a little espionage network and you guys get to pick when your characters want to get things done.

I even thought of a fun name for this group, HIDDEN MACHINES.

What is the Hidden Machine?
It’s route IC spy network. Characters that are part of the group are called HMs.

What HMs do?
Simple they steal hidden information from various sources around the pokémon world.

What counts as hidden information?
Hidden information is anything that characters can’t find easily in game.
Examples

The names of the professors from other regions
Semantics to some of the fancy technology found in the pokémon world
Ancient myths and their connections to legendaries

Who are the sources that HMs steal from?
Anyone that could be pretty high up in the pokémon world really

Pokemon Professors
Pokemon Scientists
Gym Leaders

How do they steal the info and get it out to the general network?
How and what is stolen entirely up to the player. Time and place is entire up to the player as well. There aren’t any strict deadlines to follow this time around.

Getting the info out to the network is a simple matter, they can either send anonymous text messages or anonymous voice messages (They’ll need to use a voice changer for the later) connected with their HM name.

So how does a character get in?
Since I don’t want to make this too complicated, I’ll be keeping things simple. All you have to do is sign your character up. ICly they’ll be sent a message with the group's mission statement asking if the character if they want to join. They choose yes and they’ll get a HM name which they can use to send things under.

What are the HM names?
Just the code names for the characters. All HM names are the names of pokémon moves. You can choose one for your character or just give me a type and I’ll randomly pick from that type.

So is there a big leader behind this group?
Sort of, the leader is the guy sending out the messages and setting up accounts for characters in the game. The leader name is the Move tutor or MT for short. No one knows who it is, so it could be any unimportant NPC. For all anyone knows, it could be youngster Joey or that one old lady in the park.

How do I sign my character up?
All I need is your character’s name, account name and the HM name you want them to have. Again if you can’t decide on an HM name, just give me a pokémon type and I’ll randomly choose one for you. Just comment below or on any OC HM post.

How are you going to keep track of the facts?
I’ll have a list up on open google doc. Just send me a pm or comment on a HM post with the facts you’re picking, the character that took them, and the date of their raid.

Important OC rules.
1) You can only use a maximum of four facts per raid. This just so they’ll be plenty for everyone to cover.
2) Depending on the place the vaguer information with will be.

Johto and Kanto will have pretty solid information for the most part with vague mentions about the unseen legendaries.
Sinnoh will have slightly more vague information like it will mention geography the direction it is away from each other.
Hoenn and Unova only super vague stuff will be found.
Kalso being the most recent region in the games, there is hardly any solid info if any.

3) Your character can find information about things from the side game regions as well. Like Pokemon Ranger and Pokémon Colosseum. they'll be under the same amount of vagueness as Hoenn and Unova.
4) If the fact you sent in seems like something really big then I'll be running it by the mods. There is a chance that fact might be something they're planning to reveal in game later. So just a heads up.
5) Be as creative as possible when presenting those fact, that means you can get real crazy without giving anything away.

I just got Riza in the game, and she's still figuring out how everything works. Is there common knowledge about this spy group around that she could find out herself, or is she going to have to bump into someone specific to know about the group? I'd really like her to participate in this, but as she's brand new, I'm not sure how it would work out IC.

She could ask around about it. While it did happen at the start of the year. The EV news did a report on the thefts done by the original raiders. Since I think those things are archive, so she could run across that report and ask around about it. :|a

How much sense do submitted facts have to make? Like, say I wanted to have Dick find out something about Burgh. Would he have to go through Bugsy (since they're probably aware of each other) or could he go through another source?

Or, what kind of source would have info about Orre? Is "Shadow Pokemon exist" too specific?

Just gd what you think makes senses and what fun you can have with it.. He could find out about things through Bugsy or he could infiltrate the regional bug catchers convention. Or just from scientist that studies bug Pokemon.

For Orre, snatching some notes from Professor Oak would be perfect, since he's the professor that research focuses on Pokémon and human relationships. Shadow pokemon would may fall under his eye considering how alarming it is. So something like Dick finding a scientific report on about how a scientist has figured out the process to shut down pokemon's emotions. The affected pokemon were named Shadow pokemon. or something along those lines.

Dick's the sort of person who would take a lead and then focus on that as much as he could. So if he found reference to one of the Shadow attacks, for example, he'd probably publicize that in the hope of drawing more information -- maybe hoping to compare notes if someone else recognized it, even/especially another HM -- he'd probably go on to pursue the source until he landed at Shadow Pokemon or something. Sort of staggered bursts on a focused subject. Would that be okay?

Alright I just got back with the mods on this. Since the events in Orre happened a few years back. There will be notes on it but no one is sure exactly how they came about.There is a lot of speculation on the scientist part, if they're real, cloned, and alien speices. So if Dick does look into this it will lead to a dead end...for now.

You are the best =D Dead ends are great, they'll make him all nice and confused. Although going with your Oak suggestion, I probably won't start there...
