Hello, Route! Pheebs here, back in Johto (and Kanto)! For those who don't know me, I spent a few months here last year, playing Yuugi from Yu-Gi-Oh!DM, Umi from Magic Knight Rayearth, and Anissa from Harvest Moon Animal Parade. That didn't last from the activity load in the long run, but I'm here again with only one little lady - Mami from Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

For those that don't know, she's from a series that's largely regarded as the dark counter to the traditional magical girl animes, since it includes such things as character death, personal doubts and despair, and a tiny adorable creature leading girls to their doom without so much as a flinch. Oh yes, there's time travel and multiple timelines, too, and Mami joins us from the middle of The Different Story manga, which details a timeline separate from the anime. In this continuity, Mami survives her initial anime death thanks to Sayaka, who makes a contract and proceeds to fight alongside her. The return of former junior Kyoko and Sayaka's own struggles leads the two to part ways, but Mami still rushes to Sayaka's aid when she notices she's dangerously struggling. She arrives in Route before that fight comes to a conclusion.

Mami is a determined, composed fighter most of the time, happy to work with others. That said, she also has some pretty big hangups about failure or being left alone, so keep an eye out for it - she hides it fairly well. She'd much rather have a constructive chat and fight beside the others, thank you.

...That said, I actually haven't read Different Story. I started reading it when I saw Mami's canon point on her app, but ...I think I might read it later, won't mind about spoilers, and then me and Madoka can both react like we don't know anything about this version of the story. We'll see, I'm still tempted to read it.

Yup, that's me! And it's amazing to think I get cast, this time around, and such a cool one!

But, no worries- I'd definitely encourage Different Story, since it gives a backstory for Kyoko and Mami that's true for all the timelines (since Homura only jumps back a couple months, and that part's like a year pre-anime), and lovely new insights into all the girls.

But, there's also no rush! Everything Pre-Charlotte is the same for Mami as for Madoka! And whatever confusion comes up, it'll probably be fun for it!

But everyone says I'm cute, not cool It's going to be amazing and I'll have absolutely no regrets on finally apping this girl to the game. My excuses for not apping her were lame anyways.

DS has been on my "plan to read" list for a while now and I think I'll read it soon-ish anyways... Whenever I feel less lazy about reading manga, orz.
