EVALUATE MY BATTLING!

Trainer Tip: play nice and keep it civil.

things to keep in mind:
→ This is encouraged, not mandatory. We will not penalize you for not using it.
→ Feel free to link your personal HMDs if you would like, just in case someone doesn't want to use the mass HMD post.
→ this is more for actual critique and discussion. Please don't just blindly praise a person or just call them horrible. If someone's doing a wonderful job, you can tell them, just tell them why, or even where they're showing off bonus perks. If someone's doing a not-so-wonderful job, tell them why, give them things to improve on if you can. Examples, links, things that can give them something to work on. Meaning, no bashing, flaming, or nasty behavior. Please keep it civil.
→ Anonymous is turned on! But note: anonymous is a privilege, not a right. If it's being abused to bash players, please be sure to let one of us know and we'll step in or freeze threads if necessary. If anonymous is abused too much, it will be turned off for the next HMD.
→ Don't take this all too personally! Remember that roleplay is a game, and crit is supposed to help, not make you feel horribly. No one is perfect, we've all got room to improve. Please keep that in mind.

explosivecombat: (I like the way you think)

I've noticed this as well, actually, and it's something that's concerned me for a while; I've been asking people for advice RP-wise on how to fix this, and I've received a few tips on it that I plan on implementing as soon as possible. I used to have far more varied CR in the past, and I'm working on building that back up again; I'm in a much better place in...many ways, now, so that will make it a bit easier, and I have been working on getting better about continuing to tag threads/resolving the thread-dropping issue - even before the hiatus, for example, I had several threads that I was continuing to tag for over a month after the original posts were made.

I will say that I do have many issues that are flat-out debilitating that have been flaring up for a few years now, and they finally came to a head in the worst way possible recently; while I don't publicize them or mention them very much outside of my plurk, these issues can and do affect my ability to talk to people and make rational decisions - and due to the nature of the issues in question, I don't always realize that I'm having problems until someone takes me aside and goes "...dude, you are symptoming really badly, sit down." This is part of the reason I stay close to my friends for extended periods of time, then have long periods of TAG ALL THE THINGS before retreating again; I know it's wicked inconsistent, and I apologize for it. For the sake of reference, I mention all of this by way of explanation, not excuse, but I do have some serious problems that can affect the way I interact with the game; usually my issues are manageable, but for a good amount of 2012, they were...well, not. Should you want a more thorough explanation, you or anyone else are more than welcome to PM me (doing so with a sock account would be perfectly fine, should that be more comfortable for you) and I can explain what I'm talking about in more detail.

At the same time, issues aside, I've also never had anyone tell me anything regarding being difficult to plot with or unapproachable; while I do apologize for difficulties I've caused for you ICly, as it wasn't intentional, this is the first time any of this has been brought to my attention. I can't know what people are thinking unless I'm told, I'm not a mind-reader, and it's somewhat frustrating to know that people would apparently rather drop than actually tell me that they're having issues with what I'm doing.

I can't fix things unless I know what to fix, and I've gotten very little crit in the past; with that in mind, I appreciate your taking the time to type this up for me! The compliments regarding my writing and playing are definitely nice to hear, and I'm immensely grateful for the crit - should you have anything else to offer me, I'd love to hear that as well. For the time being, I can assure you that this is being worked on; I've been talking to a bunch of neutral parties about this, not just my friends. I've gotten a lot of good advice regarding it, and I'm trying to branch out more as we speak. Between that and this, I really do hope your experience playing with me (either now or in the future - and if you still want to app a castmate I definitely hope you do so!) is decidedly more pleasant overall; if there are any further problems with my playing, you can always poke me on one of my characters' HMDs and let me know that there's something wrong. I know for a fact Kimblee's is anon-enabled, and I...think I've fixed all the settings on my others, but I might have missed some.
