EVALUATE MY BATTLING!


TRAINER TIPS:
→ This is encouraged, not mandatory. We will not penalize you for not using it.
→ Feel free to link your personal HMDs if you would like, just in case someone doesn't want to use the mass HMD post.
→ this is more for actual critique and discussion. Please don't just blindly praise a person or just call them horrible. If someone's doing a wonderful job, you can tell them, just tell them why, or even where they're showing off bonus perks. If someone's doing a not-so-wonderful job, tell them why, give them things to improve on if you can. Examples, links, things that can give them something to work on. Meaning, no bashing, flaming, or nasty behavior. Please keep it civil.
→ Anonymous is turned on! But note: anonymous is a privilege, not a right. If it's being abused to bash players, please be sure to let one of us know and we'll step in or freeze threads if necessary. If anonymous is abused too much, it will be turned off for the next HMD.

I'd hate to see the Rockets go. I joined this game with the intention of playing my character as a Rocket. I'd hate to see that aspect removed. Instead of removing it, it might be better to give Rockets more advantages. Yes, they get to start out with two Pokemon (and one higher leveled one) but to promote more Rocket schemes, perhaps there could be some kind of benefit to being a Rocket.

I know at one point the mods discussed setting Rockets up into teams. What happened to that? Why haven't we heard anything about that? It would be great to build CR and for those who were put in Team Rocket and plan on spying, this would provide a lot of potential plots! I'd love to see something done with this. Perhaps part of the issue could be addressed with this - the Rockets have to look out for their team members or they'll all be punished, for example. I don't know, something like that.

I think having someone play the Executives as minor characters to run plots would work. I know the mods have said they've tried that before, but I can't think of any other solution.

They were supposed to split up into squads of four, but it was mostly handwaved and I think with the number of people who quit being Rockets or dropped their characters, it stopped being effective.

I think an ideal compromise would be seeing if some of the Rockets given more authority and more access to the resources used in plots. That way command could sort of be eased off of the NPCs which are mostly absent and onto some of the players.

Of course this would require a lot of communication between the mods and the players and the Rocket muns would have to be willing to take on the responsibility, so it might not be a likely solution.

Well that's my point, really. If nothing can be implemented that will give Rockets something to do during the day-to-day, as Trainers and Breeders have, then what's the point of having them if they're going to basically be event only characters?

The problem with Rockets is that after the first month of the game they were demoted from characters with something to do all the time to characters who are used in plots, whenever those might be, and then largely ignored most of the time.

Removing them SHOULD be the last option, but making promises that won't be kept again shouldn't be a priority either. The point here though is that now that we're two years into the game and barely better off than when we started, we need to recognize that it IS an option.

I don't have anything grand to contribute here, but having people actually play the Executive's as NPCs or even introduce, dare I say it, original Rockets made just for Route that can develop with the game and the Rocket players by threading and chatting with them could maybe help in the day-to-day. Can you imagine if we had like, a group of active Rocket leaders/commanders who just chatted up the player Rockets on a regular basis when they use the Rocket filter? I think that would be amazing.

It doesn't even have to be a mod who would play them, just someone who would be willing to be active and put forth the effort of posting at least once every month and give out minor orders or even big ones, along with reply to filtered Rocket posts.

I definitely don't think Rockets should ever be axed though. They just need some dedicated care to their side of things.

That's the problem - there has yet to be any real dedication to Rockets, which is why I suggested it.

If real dedication comes then by all means keep them. Until that, though, keep the option open is all I am saying.

Yeah, I get you and I definitely agree. Well, aside from the axing option obviously, but I'm just tossing out some suggestions for them... I'm really hoping one of the new mods might have a sort of 'dedicated' mod role in doing Rocket stuff. Since while it's clear there's some stuff planned, we really do need some consistent stuff for the Rockets to do that isn't just 'here's a thing they can do, go nuts!' and such.
