EVALUATE MY BATTLING!

TRAINER TIPS:
→ This is encouraged, not mandatory. We will not penalize you for not using it.
→ Feel free to link your personal HMDs if you would like, just in case someone doesn't want to use the mass HMD post.
→ this is more for actual critique and discussion. Please don't just blindly praise a person or just call them horrible. If someone's doing a wonderful job, you can tell them, just tell them why, or even where they're showing off bonus perks. If someone's doing a not-so-wonderful job, tell them why, give them things to improve on if you can. Examples, links, things that can give them something to work on. Meaning, no bashing, flaming, or nasty behavior. Please keep it civil.
→ Anonymous is turned on! But note: anonymous is a privilege, not a right. If it's being abused to bash players, please be sure to let one of us know and we'll step in or freeze threads if necessary. If anonymous is abused too much, it will be turned off for the next HMD.
→ Don't take this all too personally! Remember that roleplay is a game, and crit is supposed to help, not make you feel horrible. No one is perfect, we've all got room to improve. Please keep that in mind.

I'm not even going to bother going anonymous.

I've rather openly admitted my feelings for how long the moderators have taken on my plurk, but I'm glad that they're finally coming soon, but that's not what I want to actually comment on.

I'd just like to put out a open and proper request here to give the things I suggested a good proper once over down the line. I know I can't help with the big one as a player and I know it would take a good deal of effort, but it's still something that I think is high time implemented.

Also, I will once again suggest a mod plurk be made once these new mods are properly announced. Again, for easier mod communication / spreading the word on things / updates on stuff and for things like badge requests just being sent to it via private plurk for those of us who use plurk.

Pretty sure any other issues I have you guys have been discussed already in the above threads, so I won't touch on anything else.

Sorry if I'm being a nuisance with this.

+1 for the mod plurk idea. I'm not very comfortable with AIM and whenever I PM the mods it takes quite awhile for them to get back. I understand you all are busy, but I've been waiting weeks to hear back from you all. Perhaps the plurk could help with this?

(Anonymous) 2012-04-17 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
My only concern with this is that people who don't have Plurk and don't plan to get one would miss out on update information if it's only mentioned there.
combat_butler: (Does this Bunny Hood work like Link's?)

[personal profile] combat_butler 2012-04-17 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That shouldn't be an issue! Unless it somehow ends up drastically different from other mod plurks, it would hopefully be used for reminders of upcoming things and linking to big in-game announcements so people can spread it around and get excited in the plurk. Maybe linking to CR memes and such as well? I mean sure, the possibility of missing out on discussion of update stuff with other players is there if you don't have one, but it should never be anything huge.

Really, the badge thing and it just being another quick and easy method of contact is why I'm suggesting it.

As someone who's worked with a mod plurk in the past, information is never solely mentioned there. It's just a quick access for the majority of players who do have one.

While a mod plurk might be ideal with spreading the word out about updates and other important things, it's not really fair to the rest of the player-base who either don't have a plurk or choose not to use one. And taking in the way plurk has been behaving recently I know I prefer using AIM when it involves plotting something out or asking important questions.

There's also the fact that you can overlook some of the mod plurks in your timeline. I know I've done it in the past with other game plurks.

I don't personally see anything unfair about it. A lot of RPers use plurk, and a mod plurk basically echoes every mod announcement so that people who are online can see it right away. It's not like a mod plurk is going to announce something that the rest of the players can't see or anything, unless, like Kev said, it's drastically different for some reason.

Really, it'd just be "Event is announced!" and "Look, friend/add remove is up!" while providing a place for people who use plurk to ask for gym badges, etc.

Not saying that the mod plurks will say anything else! but you've got to take in consideration that a lot of the new players don't have plurk since most of them are either new to dwrp or roleplay all together. and plurk, as you mentioned, is heavily used for rp purposes.

of course there are some handy dandy tutorials over on LJ, so any of those who don't have one can use those to familiarize themselves with it! but it's still not fair to expect them to get one just so they can keep up with updates. there's nothing wrong with Kev's idea in having one, but you've also got to take the perspective of those who don't have one.

edit: i just want everyone to be treated equally ;3;

Rather than taking perspective of those who don't have one, it sounds like you'd just say shove it to those who do to me. :\ If the same information is relayed in all the places, what's one more for the convenience of everyone who does use it?
craftingrebel: (you take care okay senpai?)

That was not my intention at all, so I'm sorry for making you think that anon! I was just speaking from my experiences. But people are different, and not everyone has the same experiences. I do see your point in this though, I just wanted to shed a little light on this side. I don't want anybody to feel alienated either, I just want to see everyone having fun.

Personally, I don't think they would need to feel pressured into getting one. I see it as kind of...some people don't even use AIM, yeah? So they can only PM the mods. But AIM contacting is a mutual method that people who are in Route and use AIM can use to contact a mod. I don't see how plurk should be treated any differently. It's just a thing for people who all have this thing to keep in touch with the mods.

I understand people should be treated equally, but that's what the OOC comm and mod journals are for. Everyone has access to use those. If they have AIM, great, they can communicate outside of those as well. And if we had a mod plurk, it would just be for that same convenience. It's not for treating other players unequally, it'd just be another easy way for mods to be contacted. Some players will still us PMing, some people will still use AIM, and if we had plurk, some people would use that.

That's how I see it, at least! Even if the mods don't seem keen on having a mod plurk, I think it's something that should be considered.

And now I am going to just +1 Rune here as that is pretty much exactly what I would have tried to say.

Mmmm, no yeah. I understand. I can also see the hassles one would even get trying to use AIM nowadays. And especially when a lot of people are starting to make their AIMs friends only. (those gosh darn sexbot spammers!) I think the only reason stopping me from doing that is in the off chance someone needs to ask me something.

And this is true. While some people may think it's a hassle, others might think otherwise. Prodding people through a private plurk is definitely something no one will miss or mark as read (since, plurk won't let you until you've seen the private message) I have no objections in seeing an eventual mod plurk in the future! I just wanted to shed a little light on this side. But I'll make sure this gets the attention that it needs! :3

+1 for mod plurk

[personal profile] saltwaterwounds 2012-04-17 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a little bit of extra effort, but it's really been useful in other games.
artfuldestruction: baaaw everyone survived (pout)

+1 here too!

I also think a mod plurk would be fantastic; I'm quite surprised that we don't have one, really.
