Raise this barn, raise this barn, 1-2-3-4 (DATE CHOSEN)
So here's the deal, guys! It's a little late, so apologies (August turned out to be way busier and hectic than I'd originally anticipated.), but here's the recruitment information for the Welcome Center and the upcoming fundraisers.
UPDATE: The Cherrygrove City fundraiser will be Saturday, September 28th!
For those who aren't already aware (new arrivals or those who missed the previous post) here's the gist of it.
Katara is forming a Welcome Center that will provide several one time and/or short-term services for new arrivals, for free. More information can be found here (Note: This is not-for-profit work, so the work is 98% volunteer and donation based.).
Among those services is housing for new arrivals who need it. Click the above link for more info on that. The thing is though, though the houses have been bought they still need to be renovated.
Said boarding houses will be located in Cherrygrove City for Johto and Viridian City for Kanto. The Center itself doesn't really have an official headquarters yet. For the time being Katara is traveling around and working out of inns, but I'm open to suggestions for where the headquarters should be placed (the only real stipulations being that it be somewhere on the main land, not Olivine, and not Goldenrod.). It would simply house volunteers who need room/board and also serve as a general place for everyone to meet up to make plans, store supplies, donations, etc.
But enough about that. There's a fundraiser to plan and it's going to take some work! In the interest of keeping this simple I'm just going to post comment headers with the available positions and descriptions. These range from volunteer positions with the WC to temporary jobs for the fundraisers. Please find the appropriate comment thread to volunteer your character.
Note: The number of positions for any given job is subject to change depending entirely on interest and demand. There's always room to grow as long as there's interest, so don't worry if you don't get a spot at first! We'll definitely be keeping people in mind going forward.
Note 2: The senior volunteers listed as filling several of the positions already are some of the WC's founding volunteers.
To make sure people in both regions can participate if they wish there will be two fundraisers. The first will be held in Johto at Cherrygrove City with a date to be announced once I talk to the mods. The second fundraiser will follow 2-2.5 weeks after the Johto fundraiser in Kanto at Viridian City. Both locations where the boarding houses will be built. Characters are more than welcome to attend either or both. Sign up's aren't region specific since dates still need to be worked out, but otherwise we're ready to go!
If you read through all of that: Thank you! You can now head down below to find the sign up's!
1.) Tenten - Trainer (for staff and pokemon)
2.) Dante Alighieri - Manual labor (house renovations)
3.) Carol Susan Jane Danvers - Manual labor (house renovations)
4.) Robin (Dick Grayson - Security (advising)
5.) Tony Stark - Various (engineering and technology help)
6.) Lightning Farron - Security (rallying volunteers)
7.) Cecil - Donation (100k + material donations on later dates)

✘ .//. Donations » Items/Pokemon
We would rather Pokemon be sent to the foster home, but we will gladly accept contributions of eggs and Pokemon. They will either be given homes at one of the WC facilities or possibly raffled or auctioned in fundraiser events. Trainers are more than welcome to express a preference if they do not wish for eggs/pokemon to be rehomed.
» Money
» Supplies
» Canned goods
» Pokemon/Eggs
We will accept a variety of supplies (clothes, umbrellas, rain slickers, seasonal attire, repels, escape ropes, and can openers are preferred), any foods that will keep for long periods of time (canned and/or sealed foods), as well as ongoing donations, sponsors, etc. as all proceeds go right back into the WC.
As one final note: If anyone plays a breeder who would like to participate they are welcome to set up booths and sell eggs at this event. It would be asked that they donate some percentage (15-20% or more? What's a good amount, you tell me!) of their profits to the WC, though, since this is the purpose of the event.
✘ .//. Fundraiser Acts
Can you perform a mean opera duet with your Jynx? Does your Golem have a secret talent for juggling? Magicians, martial arts experts, idols, weapons specialists, contortionists, acrobats, bring us your skills and help us draw in the crowds!
Sign up's are here and a schedule will be determined based on the list of acts as of the closing of this post.
✘ .//. Security Detail
It's not public knowledge, but Katara is a part of the PGC, and as such she'll be asking Lightning for a little help with covering security for the event. What will then happen is that Lightning will mention the event to members of the PGC that might be in the area when the fundraisers happen.
Aside from any available PGC members those who have established themselves as trustworthy with Katara may also offer their time and assistance in keeping an eye out for trouble.
Please be aware that at least for the Johto fundraiser there won't be anything going down as far as trouble goes. I'd really like for at least the first fundraiser to go off without a hitch, so there won't really be any action here, but it never hurts to be prepared!
Please specify which fundraiser your character will volunteer for (Johto, Kanto, or both).
Senior Volunteers: Envy ( temporary )
Positions Available: Unlimited
✘ .//. Manual Labor
We're also going to need people who can handle plumbing, electrical work, painting/interior decorating, and so on.
Comment here with what they can and will do if your character would like to volunteer their services.
Senior Volunteers: n/a
Remaining Positions: Unlimited
✘ .//. Pokemon Handlers/Trainers
Senior Volunteers: Katara
Remaining Positions: 5/6
✘ .//. Collectors
Note: For characters with strong negotiation and people skills there will be opportunities where they may be asked to take on extra special assignments, such as contacting local businesses and individuals for larger donations or some type of sponsorship. They may also be asked to act as a liaison and maintain continued, open communication with the WC's regular contributors, as needed.
Senior Volunteers: Katara, Minato Namikaze
Positions: 8/10
✘ .//. Chaperones
More information can be found here. This is a full time position and it would be preferred that only characters with either experience or long tenures in Johto/Kanto apply. They will be responsible for looking after and helping out the new arrivals. That includes, but is not limited to: Cooking, answering questions about a wide range of topics (Pokemon, current and past events, Pokemon breeding, publicly known organizations and businesses, locals, etc.), and (if necessary) protecting them in the event of a Rocket attack or SUDDENLY POISON TYPE INVASION or any of the other insanity that this world is known for.
Note: Typically chaperones are allowed "guests" as long as they don't take up necessary space meant for the new arrivals. That means spouses, charges/children, or other immediate family (blood relations or surrogate, adopted, etc.) are allowed residence if no other option is available.
Senior Volunteers: Minato Namikaze
Remaining Positions: 9/10
✘ .//. Event Coordinators
These events could range from small gatherings (rallies, meetings, etc.) to grand events (charity drives, parties, benefit concerts, bake sales, character-run carnivals, raffles, contests, etc.). They may be asked to work in groups to coordinate efforts (and make sure there are enough events to go around) or individually.
Comment here if you'd like your character to work with the WC in this field. Please specify if you have any preferences. More positions may open depending on the response and demand for events.
Senior Volunteers: Imogen
Remaining Positions: 3/4

Also to challenge Blue's Elite team, but while she's in town, she'd like to help by training whoever the eventual permanent staff are. And train the Pokémon, too, but that's more so she can take a look at what every else has got and if there's anything she'd want to add to her own roster.
She'll also help train the Pokémon, too. She won't even try to wheedle one for herself (unless it's really cool.

Katara might give her an egg as a thank you or something if she has a species Tenten has her eye on afterwards.no subject

her mind will be blown! She'll be happy to tell him about the plans they have and keep him updated (if he asks, that is- as there are some things she's still learning about this kind of "work").
