Howdy, people! Name's Mike and I'm bringing in this adorable rogue. Those of you who were into the 90's anime boom might recognize the scruffy red mane of Gene Starwind, the main protagonist of a fun little space adventure series called "Outlaw Star".

He's a cocky, irresponsible 20-year-old from the run down slum-planet of Sentinel III, where he lives with his even younger business partner, Jim Hawking. The two of them do everything from bounty-hunting to vehicle repair, and up getting embroiled in a plot that ends with Gene and his crew taking on space pirates to save the galaxy. Gene is taken from after the series finale.

He's been given a Charmander that he's going to name "Tequila", because he just burns so good.

Outlaw Star was such a damned fun series. It's a shame it didn't do well enough in Japan to warrant more.
