Slow...ish...ness.
SO AS YOU'VE PROBABLY NOTICED since joining my activity's been rather. sluggish. I don't want to declare a hiatus quite yet (especially not so early) but I would like to apologise for it- just a few unforeseen problems with my school schedule and stuff. Bear with me, I'll be tagging as much as I can around weekends and late-nights.
That said, I'd also like to take the chance to ask how you guys manage different aspects of the game, out of curiosity! I've seen a few different methods but haven't been able to decide on one for myself and Bun here quite yet.
Also I'm trying to think of more ways to incorporate Bun's whole artist schtick in a pokémon setting. Anyone else have this kind of theme with their character going on?

As far as art goes, Sho hasn't had a chance to create any of his own yet, but there are plans for a choreographed pokemon fire dance with his travelling partner's clothing. Mostly I stick with his maths thing, which involves naming his pokemon after maths symbols. Bunnymund isn't as insane as Sho, though, so this sort of thing may not work for you.

I'm actually thinking of naming all his pokémon after fictional rabbits-- Tulane is actually named after Edward Tulane, for instance. Bunny's art is mostly painting, which is why I gave him a smeargle, though beyond that I'm not sure how I'll have him acquire things with which to paint. Which could honestly be a good excuse for a video.

Sho is also a loner, and part of how Belphe's player and I dealt with that in order to have him end up with a travelling partner is that his Eevees, when they hatched, decided that Belphe and Sho are equally necessary to their happiness and neither of them are able to deal with wailing, crying Eevees when they try to go their own separate ways. That's letting us build up enough CR that when the Eevees are older the two of them will have settled into being partners.

Tooth's travelling with Bunny right now but they're obviously used to working on a team of at least four. Both of us have been dealing with #LIFE right now but WE'RE GETTIN' THERE. Using the pokémon as a means of team balancing is actually... really smart though.... considering they're the whole point of the game. They're gonna be in Cherrygrove for a while, though, because Bun is also still trying to figure out this human stuff, so it's possible they'll run into some of the newer cast soon.

God, I know #LIFE. I took a month hiatus recently due to it myself and just started dipping my toes back into things. I actually had a thread with Jack Frost as one of my first ones back, poor baby.

I'm considering a few weeks hiatus if life and school don't start cooperating more. Last semester was easier so I was all YEAH I'LL BRING IN ANOTHER GAME and then no... But I'm hella excited about this game so I am determined to make it happen.

A hiatus can be good. Lets you get your head on straight, lets you plan some potential posts. I like having a couple in reserve, so to speak, so that I'm not flailing around AC time.

If I do end up taking a hiatus it'll probably end up starting next week or the week after-- with two studio classes, I don't have any midterms, but I do have a comic project to start around that date.
I do, however, love plotting and planning. I have a plurk if you want it-- it's

Ohhhh, art school. I do not miss art school. Good luck with the comic project! If you're the one that did your icons you're going to be just fine.
My plurk (lets see if I get the code right) is

And I am! Thanks much. I'm a SCADdie in for sequential, so I have learned that sleep is not a thing I can have in life and the one downfall to making your own icons is that in order to have a set that matches up you have to keep making them. Weeps.
Mine can be a little temperamental but I think it's let me add you.

This is the one reason that I refuse to draw my own icons. I know I would never ever sleep again until I had a full set that were good enough for my perfectionism.
Yes! And I have added you back!

OMG that was one of your first ones back? I'm so sorry! XD
(Also, may I sneakily add you on Plurk, as well? I'm

Also making posts to keep track of things like threads I'm in, etc. That's probably a hold-over from my LJ gaming days many, many moons ago.

What aspects in particular are you curious about? I've been in this game since it opened, so I might be able to help!
As for his artist schtick, I don't play an artist character (Heather can be artsy when she wants to be but it's not really a prominent interest) BUT I make a habit of illustrating a lot of her posts just because I enjoy it and it makes them stand out a little. Obviously that takes extra time but I highly encourage, if it's something you want to do, sprucing posts up a little from time to time with art! Maybe Bunny himself can take on art-related work from time to time and you could draw what he does.

I might illustrate a few of Bunny's posts, and I definitely want to illustrate his pokémon team stuff- I feel he'd draw or paint them often and it makes it a little more intimate (I actually also illustrate Katherine's CR chart over at Ruby City-- when I have time, anyway). I definitely want him to look into artistic work because holy hell his people skills are not made for service and I'm not putting any poor soul through that except maybe once for the sake of "wow that was a terrible idea"

In terms of the breeding stuff, there's a few calculations you can do for shiny chances and stuff like that. I'd recommend checking out what others do, yeah.
As for levels and money-keeping, feel free to approximate that stuff. As long as you keep things realistic, there's no need to calculate everything perfectly. I've always just kept a rough estimate of where Heather's Pokemon and finances are depending on what she's been up to in the preceding weeks.
BUT YEAH YOU TOTALLY SHOULD and that would be awesoooome. Poor people having to deal with him... XD
