things to keep in mind:
→ This is encouraged, not mandatory. We will not penalize you for not using it.
→ Feel free to link your personal HMDs if you would like, just in case someone doesn't want to use the mass HMD post.
→ this is more for actual critique and discussion. Please don't just blindly praise a person or just call them horrible. If someone's doing a wonderful job, you can tell them, just tell them why, or even where they're showing off bonus perks. If someone's doing a not-so-wonderful job, tell them why, give them things to improve on if you can. Examples, links, things that can give them something to work on. Meaning, no bashing, flaming, or nasty behavior. Please keep it civil.

Lay it on me, because even if I think I'm doing okay there's always room for improvement. Sasuke is a character I worry about almost constantly in terms of development - am I overplaying his issues and obsessions, underplaying them, not making him work hard enough, making him do things for the wrong reasons, and a whack load of other questions that would take forever to list out here. However, things I might be doing wrong are not things I can easily see, so outside help is always welcome to help me improve with his voice and just improve generally as a player.

Okay, so this is going to be a bit longer than the average HMD comment, but that's mainly because I have had some concerns brought to my attention recently thanks to a very helpful wankgate discussion. So, for those who don't watch WG, here are some things I am actively trying to address:
- Focusing on Riku as a character instead of just as a trainer
- Making his threads more conversational, less focused on himself and his team
- Consequences. Bowser is going to get some comeuppance soon, and I'm definitely going to dial back the impression I've been giving about Riku being super OP/godmode/etc. He's lost a few times, and I welcome more losses in the future because I think they can help his growth as a character. I do apologize for getting over-invested, too.
- Severely scaling back certain issues, like Terror, for one. I know I've made people uncomfortable with this. I likely won't be squeezing his 'mons in very many threads for a while unless the situation really calls for it.
- Making more varied and interesting posts. :|b I don't think I've had one I've been fully satisfied with in a while, anyway, and I miss silly shenanigans like the santa debate, which had nothing to do with 'mons.
- Planning ahead with Bowser plots so I don't step on toes. I'm also gonna space them out a bit more and throw in some silliness because it's... Bowser.
Other things of note...
- The TC as a pointless/annoying addition: I do want to fix this. For now, I will refrain from focusing on it ICly. As for the exhibition battles... if I continue them, I may see if other players want to have their chars host them, so it's not just my char and Sora showing off every time. But idk, maybe the idea was just too much. They probably won't be as frequent if I do continue doing 'em.
- Eggs. I probably won't do another egg batch for another month or two unless people really want them. I'm also thinking of doing smaller batches and focusing on some of the rarer species that don't get as much love.
- Approachability. Some anons expressed wariness at coming to me with crit, and I understand why in retrospect. I really want to stress that it is important that I know about issues, though, because if I only ever hear positive feedback, I can't really fix anything. I also really like it when people have suggestions to go with their concerns because it really gives me an idea of what to work towards!
To wrap up this tl;dr, I'll try to keep things under control, because the last thing I want is to make people unhappy. :( But I understand why I have, and I hope that I can make my characters more enjoyable to bounce off of in the future.

Definitely understand your hesitance, though, and I do hope that by setting specific goals for myself, I can get myself into new habits. :) Having silly threads like the one in Cecil's post have helped, since there's no need to even bring training into the equation. Seeing how I have Riku in games without Pokémon where I've fared much better overall, I think putting less focus on his team will allow me for more comfortable focus on Riku without getting too stuck up on presenting him as this unbeatable force.
And it's okay. I admit that sometimes I've felt that way about the TC as well, mainly because battles are something so handwavable that maybe having something specifically for training/easy leveling/recreation just wasn't necessary after all.

OH also I think you're doing pretty well with Ilya so far-you seem to be balancing out her childishness and her underlying maturity pretty well, which is the main problem I would think of when dealing with Ilya. I'd give you more in-depth stuff but it would require some canon reviewing since I haven't read FSN since last year and my main resource for that is down right now, bluuuh.

Things that I'm trying to keep in balance
-Not making his personal trauma conga line the focus of everything he does
--I know both of the recent logs I've been involved in have been depressing and along these lines, but I'm trying to keep his posts generally lighthearted to balance that out
-Keeping his tone consistent and realistic to an 11-year-old (even though his canon doesn't do the best job of that either)
I would like to know what I can do to improve in these regards, as well as anything that I might not have considered! And I wouldn't mind hearing if there's anything you think I'm doing right, either.

I'm trying to see if I can motivate myself more for this game, but in the meanwhile, any feedback on how I've been doing with Vriska would be appreciated. I have tried her once before this place, but this is my first serious attempt at her. Also, that was a long while ago.

I believe I've been fairly rusty so far as I've been re-introducing RP into my routine after a couple of years of not being involved with the hobby, and I've definitely been slow due to surprise computer problems. As for the latter, I now have regular computer access again and hope to deliver swifter, more consistent tags in the future.
