Hey, baby, they're playing your song...
...or they will be, at least.
Hey, everybody, Alex here with a heads-up about some shenanigans that will be going down this Friday, March 1 — which, coincidentally, happens to be Carmen's birthday. And in canonical Carmen fashion, she'll be stealing something for it, because what's a birthday without a theft, right?
So, being that she's currently in Saffron City and they happen to have a Rather Nice Concert Hall™ as a part of the local scenery there, she's decided that this year for her birthday, she's going to steal...the show.
By which I mean she's going to sneak into the joint and replace the orchestra's score with her own selection of music, and then show up for the performance and revel in it. Because swag.
What does this mean for you? Well, if you're in Saffron and planning to be at the show, you'll be hearing some notably different music than what was originally scheduled! Also, if your character is one of those people who likes to tune in to the Saffron Orchestra via the Gear Radio, they'll likewise end up hearing the altered broadcast. Otherwise, you're perfectly welcome to ignore it and carry on as usual; Carmen won't be making a particularly big deal out of this caper herself, since it's a more private affair than her usual fare.
As for the music itself, the evening's program will be as follows:
▶ The overture from Bizet's Carmen, because no one ever said she was subtle.
▶ Mozart's Singt dem großen Bassa Lieder, because I am not above kicking the fourth wall a little.
▶ A holiday favorite, because the dead horse still has a couple more good whacks in it.
BUT! Being that Carmen is not subtle, and also because she has some pretty cool friends, there will be an encore to all these shenanigans — one that even she isn't expecting.
▶ There's a Pokemon Journey pun I could make here, but I won't.
Anyway, I know this is pretty gratuitous and probably only really relevant to Carmen and her CR, but I just wanted to put the heads-up out there that all this was going down, just in case people might be tuning in and/or would be in a position to react to it.
So that's the plan! Please let me know in the comments of this post if there are any questions, clarifications, or important bits I skipped. And of course, this all comes HM-approved. o/
