Radio Tower Raid

So, after several weeks and several communication gaffes, I'm proud to present to all of you Lightning's Plan: Start Actually Fighting.

Now, what this is is a raid on the Goldenrod Radio Tower. Not a takeover, but still something that will say to TR, for sure, that there's some group out there prepared to mess up their plans if they get any chance. And since information was obtained during the last 4th wall that gives a real hint that TR still holds the Tower, Lightning's been planning to try and take it back. Of course, that's changed given some conversations with other characters, but the idea is still the same. Now, lets get down to brass tacks!

The Plan:

Someone, or perhaps multiple someones, will fly up to the tower roof with a Charizard/something capable of Smokescreen and fill the ventilation system with smoke. (Yes, like in those crazy spy movies/shows) Once that's done and forced most of the people inside the tower out, everyone else waiting to go in will, while in disguise so there are no identifying traits, pile into the tower and clear out everyone else by splitting into teams and using Thunder Wave to keep whoever stayed behind out of the way for a time while they look for intel. Soon afterwards, they pile back out and scatter to the four corners of the city to avoid being found out. This is, of course, subject to some changes if anyone has any ideas they'd like to bring to the table! I'm open for discussion.

However, there are a few things that you should know, first:

Things that aren't changing:

What kind of information they'll find. As this is an outpost, there's very little vital information. There'll be notes along the lines of "we're looking for X amount of Gyarados for this month", but since they could either fish for them, raise Magikarps, or steal from trainers, there'll be no real idea where to look for Rocket members or where to avoid going if a character won't want to deal with them.

There won't be a broadcast declaring the tower to be Rocket territory or otherwise...not an "official" one, anyway. Perhaps next time, because this is really just a "show of power". They'll be at the Tower again at some point, I assure you. This is just to prove that the data Ven and co recovered from the 4th Wall Raid is legit and not something Johto made up.

Things that are up for change:

Who runs into who. While the majority of the "event" is locked to PGC and Rocket members, I never specified who. :3 Goldenrod's a major town, so who knows who's there at any given time? Heck, this could affect unaffiliated trainers outside the Tower, too! I mean, if you've got something that big leaking smoke and NPCs on the street, it's going to attract attention. Consider it a CR opportunity!

And that's about it. Now, this'll be taking place on Monday, January 14th, with the IC Planning Meeting taking place on Saturday, January 12th with an IC but handwaved message saying "Get to Goldenrod by Saturday" sent Tonight, January 7th to all members of the Corps. If your character would attend/take part but you can't be around to tag, for whatever the reason, just let me know and we can work something out.

Well, if he'd be in the area and sees the smoke/unconscious people, I'd think it might in his nature to help out a little. >> Things may start locked to the Corps and Rockets, but when you've got Paralyzed people on the streets, I'm not assuming they won't get noticed. Of course he'd be allowed.

Tonight, actually. It'll be handwaved because I don't want to bombard people with posts/IC messages, but Twilight and the rest will have received the message going "Be in Goldenrod by Saturday" tonight.

Two of Sasuke's pokemon have been volunteered for the effort, and he already knows a lot of the details from Riku (mostly). What are the chances of him getting dragged into conversations regarding things? :P

That depends on how curious he...actually...is. If he comes with Sora and Riku to the meeting, Lightning won't turn him away because they need all the help they can get, but she will be expecting him to not be quite so reckless. >> if he does charge off on his own, there will be linefacing and words.

He may join in on the 'fun' then, if only for the meeting to see if outside support is needed, and what he can do outside of what he's doing already. He's not planning on running straight into a Bowser trap anymore, anyway.

Unfortunately, in terms of attack force the most he can offer is low-to-mid 50s at this point.

OH GOOD Somebody talked sense into him. >> For now, anyway. But yes, if he shows up at the meeting and not everybody has shown up, he might get roped into it anyway. >> We'll see!

Also, if he's offering Smoke support (and would be willing to bring Chidori along for Thunder Wave support if Light finds out about him), Lightning would still be appreciative of the help. Since it's an outpost, there's likely to be only grunts and a couple Grunt-Leaders around, so Level 50's should be okay.

Haha he has Naru too, although unfortunately Naru doesn't know Thunder Wave. But he's willing to help, provided that he doesn't get too impatient regarding Obito anyway.

... Which, knowing Sasuke, is entirely possible.

A part of me is tempted to throw Bowser in and have him stir up trouble, but idk if you folks really wanna deal with his idiocy. He'd probably be doing something stupid like spamming Earthquake and letting his Salamence 'play' with any people he catches... all while making himself a fabulous target for any people with 100's. Oops.

...Earthquake. In a skyscraper. ....yeah that sounds like something he'd do. xD You could bring it up in a case by case basis per thread/player? I mean, I wouldn't mind Lightning dealing with him again and I seriously doubt Sasuke wouldn't jump at the chance, but others may not wanna deal with him.

Just throwing this here as well that Ren - who is a TR member - will most likely be around the Radio Tower and will be helping out the PGC as much as he can while trying not to get caught as he does it.

Of course, not everything always goes as planned, so I'm up for plotting if anyone would like.

Like I've mentioned in passing, everyone in the PGC that needs a place to stay, they are free to "work temporarily" at the Breeding Centre. Saber trusts she can defend the place herself if Team Rocket causes trouble (because that's sort of her thing), so innocents don't need to be worried.

Although I wouldn't be opposed to any Rockets that come to poke around if they get a whiff of this in some manner.

While Saber's not much of an information gatherer, she's really good at leading a charge should something of that nature be needed. Maybe she can be on backup to defend or something of that nature in case something goes wrong.

Ven's wherever Light thinks he'd be most useful. Pinksis is the military mind, so he'll defer to her in this. Whoever he needs to work with, it's all good as far as he's concerned.

FYI, Light's probably gonna stick him on whichever squad ends up with Sora and Sasuke. >> in her mind, somebody's gotta watch those two and Ven's pretty good at not running off to do anything reckless.

Oh troublemagnet bro and as yet unmet ninja-lad, Ven'll do his very best to keep them out of anything too hairy. He's learned well from Pinksis that one needs a level head, especially with high stakes anything.

Hikari's most likely volunteering for the Charizard smokescreen group, since even with massive amounts of training when possible, her pokémon are still going to be, at most, low 60's by this point. Especially since the holidays kinda made training difficult. What with the blizzards and the near end of the world and all.

Also it was partly her idea.

Considering that there's mostly grunts in the tower, Hikari should be fine if she wants to get some fighting in. I doubt their levels would be much higher than 40s or 50s, really. Maaaybe a 55ish for a Grunt-Leader. Not easy peasy, but still good experience if she feels like getting out of the wind.

Also it is a rather good idea and has earned Hikari a few points in Lightning's books. just putting that out there.

True, but unless that Hikari's really needed, she's not going to want to go into and fight a battle when there's trainers that have stronger pokemon who'd be less screwed if they actually run into trouble. Though she'll definitely think about the possibility.

And she'd be kinda happy to hear that, actually. Assuming she ever finds out, of course.

lol okay ondorus' highest level is still 50-something and he's still mostly useless as a direct fighter

but he has pokemon capable of paralyzing, confusing, and putting to sleep enemies...as well as healing, using Tailwind, putting up Protects, Baton Passing defense buffs, Roaring, Scary Face-ing the enemy, so on and so forth. and they're pretty well-trained to use these strategies reflexively.

he also has a Pokemon well-trained in Teleport, which offers a one-time direct escape route for anyone who needs it. he's willing to go with whoever wants/needs a partner to run support.

Just commenting here to state that Lust will be playing both sides. She already knows about this meeting, so she'll be stocking up the Radio Tower with some booby traps and giving paralyz heals to some of the rocket members, but not all, while attacking a few rocket members.

Riku has a few Pokémon he can offer for the raid. Particularly Red Queen the Charizard and Axel the Typhlosion and Smoke Screeners and a few electric types for Thunder Wave spam. :|b

If anyone needs to stuff one into their party, they can temporarily borrow them.

Atsuro have some high leveled Pokemon, and can easily cover paralysis, sleep and confusion if you need him to, as well as healing. Also offering teleport service, too.

He's best at giving support and following orders, really.

Page and Emmy will both definitely be available for the raid, and I just have to check Armstrong's location with those he's traveling with, so he's a maybe. The two girls are good to go wherever Lightning needs them, though! o/
