Breeding Centre/Foster Home UPDATES

Hello Route, I'm Kattu and it's time to get down to business to defeat the Rockets!! The Breeding Centre has been left in the care of Saber and while she's eager to keep the awesome going, there's been a lot of changes that need to be worked out. So I'll just summarize everything with bullet points and hope I cover it all!

    ☐ There is now a community for all Breeding Centre and Foster Home related things: breedingcentre. Please update your links and take a look. Subscription is unnecessary as all updates with new eggs will be posted to pokedaycare or route_006.

    ☐ The Points System has been renovated a little: some prices have been adjusted and it'll be Saber baking cookies instead of Souji I'm sorry in advance, plus I've updated it for all purchases made. Characters that are dropped will be removed from the list and their points reset. You can see your current point tally here. If I'm wrong, please don't hesitate to let me know.

    ☐ The Foster Home is still a work in progress, but there's a new post with an included form to drop off any Pokemon you want to remain in their care and not in the wild. I'm currently updating the post to include everything, but you're free to put in your current Pokemon under the appropriate threads.

    ☐ Eggs! The post is outdated, so every egg listed there is now limited. Once they're out, they may be out for good. I'm currently working with Ichi to figure out what Pokemon are remaining to breed. More importantly, if you end up with extra eggs and you'd like to donate (or have the Centre sell them for you), there's a post for that too! For the time being, I'm going to lift the restriction on the Newbie Deal just to clear out this post as quick as possible. So please ignore the asterisks and pick a free Pokemon up if you haven't yet!

    ☐ Employees! I have no idea who is actually still working or living at either branch. I have created a directory for employees here, as well as housing information here. It's important that if you're still interested in working here to please let me know as soon as you can. Are you interested in working for either branches of the Breeding Centre? Please let me know as well. It doesn't matter if you're new or not (although new players will be asked to stay in Goldenrod City instead of traveling to Kanto due to costs), Saber is willing to welcome anyone so long as she can see them as trust worthy. That means no Ryuunosuke.

    ☐ Housing! Due to the low amount of employees working in Goldenrod City (none by my count right now), the huge house there is EMPTY!! Saber will be looking to turn it into a boarding house for those who want to live in Goldenrod City. Any interested parties should let me know through this post. There will be a fee for those who aren't working (of course), but Saber's willing to work with ladies and children. Stupid chivalric code! PGC members who are interested in keeping an eye in Goldenrod City might also be interested in this (;

Since the Foster Home is only available in Goldenrod, I'd be cool with Riku maybe opening the Training Center as a second drop off site. That's really your call, though-- just thought I'd offer it up, since he's been using the TC to house some dropped Pokémon already.

Also, thanks for the updates! There are some Pokémon I've wanted to put up for adoption for quite some time, so I'll go ahead and toss them up.

Question! I know I brought it up once before ages and ages ago but what if Rin did the cooking around the Kanto breeding center and in the house as well? Maybe he can take up the task of cookie baking, if that's alright?

Also, advertising. Is it possible for the Breeding Center to have a commercial on the Radio?

Okay, so being that there has always been a longstanding tradition of togetherness between the Breeding Center and the Tennis Haus — and the fact that Yagyuu is a breeder himself whose roster has reached critical mass — I just want to put out there that I would be happy to contribute his roster to the available breeding pool and/or have him breed on contract, as you prefer!

He could also theoretically help keep an eye on the BC house in Goldenrod considering he, y'know, lives next door and their backyards are basically interconnected, but tl;dr, I would be happy to pitch in and get some rapport going between these two on a breeding front, for the sake of the longstanding tradition of excellence between their two houses alike in dignity, etc etc.

Nothing to add, but just wanted to say thanks for the idea of using the Breeding Centre (Boarding Centre? xD) as room and board for PGC in the area. x3 that will most definitely come in handy at some point, I'm sure.

Indeed. I thought it would after reading the friends list and seeing some interesting stuff come up. Saber would be happy to have people listed as employees/volunteers there just to keep the guise up.

Between Saber's roster and Yagyuu's roster, a lot of beautiful things could be born. I'm always game for that sort of thing, so it might be nice to do something for the new year. I'll let you know as soooooon as I figure out the current roster for the Foster Home (and which ones can be used for breeding), as well as tally up any extras we have over.

Keeping an eye on the house would be appreciated too. I have Saber traveling between both every few weeks, so if we could backdate something or handwave to where she might have asked him sometime this week? I have her returning to Kanto due to two castmate drops, but she wouldn't have left the house there alone unless someone was keeping an eye on it. If you would? :)

Thank you! If there are any suggestions or stuff you'd like to see (or anyone really), please just let me know. I'm trying to really branch this out as much as I can. It used to be a home for so many players, so I'd like to try to revive that.

There are a handful that he'd call off-limits, breeding-wise, but for the most part his roster is fully open — and I know he inherited whatever Eevees/Eeveelutions of Souji's that didn't get claimed, so those will still be on the table, too, of course. Happy to be of service!

And sure, we can definitely handwave that — how about if I hit Saber's new post and have Yagyuu say something to the effect of "the house is fine, I'm keeping tabs on it as you asked" and they can establish a further rapport ICly from there?

Yes, that would be really good. The Kanto Breeding Centre is a single building (two story, but hey) so if he would like to do the cooking there, that's great.

... and yes, his help with the cookies would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if that's possible or not, but I can talk to a mod about it. Unless you meant over the PokeGear? In that case, poor Saber needs to hire a PR team because she is the Least Likely Candidate For Public Speaking unless there's a war involved OOPS.

I also wouldn't be opposed to doing more with the two. I know I mentioned mingle logs before, but there were a few events that kept me from getting those up. Hopefully we'll be able to squeeze them in more regularly once there's enough employees/drive for them.

Nah, it's fine, it helps me when I feel like he's getting out and about and actually showing some presence on the network (lest he BECOME A HERMIT as he would no doubt much prefer to do) anyway. But by all means, hit up his IC contact post anytime for any reason! It's always open and I've been meaning to get him involved in more Breeding Center stuff for a long time anyway.

Would you like me to put together a list for you of the roster members he's willing to breed and their movesets? I don't know if that would be more helpful than just referring to his roster, but if it would, I can definitely do that.

Weeell, maybe the Centre could offer some sort of breeding meetups? Where breeders (and trainers/rockets who like eggs) could meet and exchange tips, and maybe decide to breed some of their Pokémon together for movesets/rarer species/awesome? It'd be a good way to generate CR and a way of getting people to physically visit the Centres, which might convince a few to stay and work there.

Ha, I know that feeling all too well. Saber would be a hermit and a loner if it weren't for people like Merlin and Souji getting her involved in the PGC and Breeding Centre stuff. So I've been grateful for that CR opportunity and hope to continue to use it to help others in the same way.

You could link his roster and just the name of the Pokemon that are willing to be bred. So long as the roster lists if they are male/female, I could easily do the math. I won't post anything without your overall approval of course, so we can coordinate after possible pairings have been made. This is generally how it would look (here) if you wanted to see the method behind my madness.

Oh another thing is that there are three rooms (I think) to the Kanto Breeding Centre. For some reason when I was typing it up, I put Lancer and Rin together. I don't mind if they were bunked separate though. Should I change to reflect this?

I've been meaning to start up mingle logs with the other businesses in the area (the school/breeding centre in goldenrod, the training center/breeding centre in kanto) so to advertise for a general get together would be good to bolster the first few gatherings. I just might do this in a week or two (give the newbies enough time to get to Goldenrod City since I always like to time things around app time).

So yes, this is a great idea and I appreciate you bringing it to my attention!

ALSO as a moveset note, the one thing I've been lazy about is making sure that his roster is updated with the appropriate HMs; suffice to say, if a Pokemon is capable of learning any of the HMs save Cut, it should have that move regardless of whether or not it shows up in the official moveset list. o/

Plus he has two Dittos and I think four of Souji's Eeveelutions now, so. There's that, too.

Thank you for this. Once I get Saber's up to date since she's adopted a couple, I'll get back in touch with you over this stuff. If that's alright? An idea mentioned above talks about getting breeders together, so maybe we can have a pokemixer or something.

Excellent. B] The TC has some nice habitats for Pokémon to hang around in, and Riku wouldn't mind letting them battle if that's their thing-- the TC could always use more representation and all.

He'd also be willing to let some of his monsters breed potentially, though he does like to make money off of his ridiculous egg moves. I just think it'd be fun to do more with the TC & BC partnership and all. :)

-ooh. This situation actually matches up with something I'd been thinking of having Ondorus do in the future. Namely, maintaining...well, a boarding house/area that would also serve as a safehouse for PGC stuff. Whatta coincidence.

That said, can I get him in on this operation? He has (a lot of) experience with being a caretaker sort of person, and at this point would ICly actively go after an opportunity to get back into work he knows how to do and likes doing. Taking care of homeless monsters/traveling anyones/whoever needs a place to stay eeeee <3.

That would be excellent really. I hadn't heard of anyone wanting to do anything of that nature, so if he wants to hop in and help out with this, it would be really great. Saber's been left a huge house and as far as I know, no one is in it other than her and the Pokemon.

But yes, I'm all for this! We haven't had them meet yet in game, but I'm wondering if he knew anyone that was here before? Souji? If not, they can meet somehow through the PGC if he's a member of it.

I just looked over your post, and it's pretty pingy for Ondorus. He's had a weird past two weeks, and could ask for more detail after seeing "Foster Home", as far up his alley as that is. How does that sound?

Thanks for your kind words. I just hope to make it an easier project for all of those who want to help (hence the community with an account anyone can be given the password to, etc) just in case of emergencies. If it wasn't for the Breeding Centre, Saber would have been a recluse, so I'm really grateful for it. Before it was an excellent source of CR for her, so I hope to reflect that very same thing in others.
