Hello Route, I've got a couple of plot things for you in the next few weeks. Mostly small ones, but there's something big in this too.

[ /begin small plots ] First off, you know that bug-catching contest that's happening this week? I know I'm a little bit behind on opening this offer, but the Breeding Centre will have their doors open for travelers who need a place to rest their heads before and after the contest. So if you need an IC reason to stay dormant for a week or so in Goldenrod City, this may be for you.

With that said, Saber's also going to open the invitation to any travelers in the area to use any of the Pokemon in the Foster Home for breeding purposes (provided they haven't been claimed by someone else and that they are available to breed) because let's face it, they're probably a little lonely. There's going to be a top level comment in this post if you're interested in doing that, just link the ones you're interested in so no one is overworking the poor dears.

So with both of those, I plan to get a mingle log up for the next week (with some backdating for this week just in case) so if anyone wants to do stuff there, go wild. Really, it can't be any crazier than what Lancer does on a daily basis. Make your own open/closed threads, raid someone's underwear drawer, etc, etc. [ /end small plots ]

Finally, remember that EV News that had recipes from MOM, as well as another guest who Saber thought was a GOD? That sparked the idea for a food festival aka a cook-off aka an excuse to get as many people together to shove their stomachs full of food from various places. This is going to be a fairly open player plot so if you've got ideas, bring them to the table har har.

What I can promise is that it'll be taking place August 10th (with a week+ to settle down from the event in July) in Fuchsia City. Why, there's a chance they can become a star with esteemed guests like Gordon Rampardos and Raltson Brown as judges. Yes, of course there's going to be judges--what kind of cook off did you think this was going to be?

Ideally, this is a chance for people to show off things they learned either from back home or have created here in-game. There's no limitation, so even those characters who think they can cook can end up poisoning half the game if they can charm people into eating their dish! Please, use the comments to come up with your own ideas and plot well in advance! If there are any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I've included a very short poll to decide how winners should be determined for their dishes/recipes however. If you don't mind tossing in a vote, it would be appreciated!

JUDGES SIGN UP;

If your character would like to sign up as a judge to test all the food, please list them by name here (as well as any potential food allergies). While these sign-ups won't close, they get to wear a fancy ribbon that labels them as a judge and therefore get to munch on anything that's part of the competition. Just be sure to leave some for the other judges!

COOKBOOK/POKEGEAR APP;

One idea I was hoping to kind of inspire someone into is creating an app or an in-character cookbook of all the recipes submitted for this plot. None of my three characters would care to do that, but I think it'd be neat to have something to pass along characters. If there's anyone who's interested, Saber can try to prod them into it ICly if they need a reason.

This was actually something John was wishing was a thing, ever since the last EV news thing. He's been keeping a journal full of recipes that he's found for a couple months now but he's thinking there has to be a better way to find new ones beyond accidentally discovering them or reading them in books. So an app that people could regularly submit recipes to would be awesome, in his opinion.

Only thing is, he's actually a really terrible programmer so I don't know that he could design an app, as good of an idea as he thinks it is. So he might need a little help with the technical side of things, but he could/will definitely be inspired by all this.

While this competition is primarily for food for characters (seeing as Saber is an insatiable glutton), maybe there can be someone who THINKS OF THE POKEMON to offer a mini contest for them?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Because it'd be so mean to eat all this good food and not share any with the Pokemon.

He would feel terrible about it! And actually wanted to learn more about poffins and stuff, so that would be interesting enough for him to mention it when signing on as a judge/asking for it to be a thing/making it a thing.

Just another idea I wanted to throw out is that maybe someone could organize an IC bake sale for any of the many projects in the world. Whether it's for a player-run business or for something to help the NPCs, it's just another idea. One I can't exactly coordinate myself, so I thought I'd toss it out there in case someone wanted to do it themselves!
